Kyle Lawson

Kyle Lawson was a four-year standout and two-year alternate captain at Notre Dame who also enjoyed a three-year professional career. Named the CCHA’s Best Defensive Defenseman in 2008-09, he was second-team All-CCHA that year and honorable mention All-CCHA in 2007-08 and ’09-10. The New Hudson, Mich., native was an alternate captain on the U.S. National Junior Team that won bronze at the 2007 World Junior Championship.

A draft choice of the Carolina Hurricanes in 2005, Lawson signed with Carolina after his senior season and spent two years with the organization in Albany (AHL), Charlotte (AHL) and Florida (ECHL). He spent his last season with the Gwinnett Gladiators (ECHL) before retiring from playing to pursue other professional opportunities.

Prior to enrolling at Notre Dame Lawson played for the U.S. National Team Development Program, in the United States Hockey League and for the Honeybaked AAA program.
